Star Cloud Short ‘Flower Girl’: Scripted Saturdays

Hello again, friends! Timothy Scott Purvis here with another offering! Yes, this is going to be a short one. Mostly because the ‘script’ as it were was very short and was really just production directions on actions taken by the characters. …Of course, isn’t that all scripts? Anyhow, this was a little separate piece that I made up between seasons to set the stage for season two. I have another short called ‘We’re Not Lost’ but I never actually wrote a script for that animation. I just wrote it as I went along.

That aside, here is Flower Girl with me singing very badly in the beginning! I’ll post the link to the video at the bottom. I believe I already made it available on here before so I’ll look that up and link it.

FLOWER GIRL

SCENE I

EXT GREEN FIELD

[Aeris is walking through a field and humming. She starts dancing and singing.]

AERIS: I’m a flower girl

       Living in a dirty world

       Life is drastic

       I’m so plastic!

       You can’t comb my hair

       Or bend me anywhere

       This song is silly

       But it’s not dilly-

[Aeris gets knocked out by something. The view spins overhead looking down on her motionless body.]

SCENE II

INT A STRANGE ROOM

[Aeris awakens in a strange room. She is strapped to an upright table via duct tape.]

AERIS: Uh… what’s going on!?

MYSTERIOUS VOICE: You thought you could take credit for my work didn’t you?

AERIS: Huh?!

MYSTERIOUS VOICE: Tifa wasn’t the first. There have been… others.

[The man walks forward from the shadows.]

AERIS: Barret!?

BARRET: Now you know the truth.

AERIS: What the hell are you talking about!? And what do you mean by “others”?

BARRET: They thought they could take credit too. But they were wrong.

AERIS: Uh… credit for what?

BARRET: I’ll show you.

[Starts playing random images on the screen beside him. In each image he is standing in it staring outward from the view.]

BARRET: Here. In Kalm. Do you see? Do you see?

AERIS: Huh?

BARRET: [Clicks next image.] And that stupid ranch in the marshes. Do you see? Do you see!?

AERIS: See what!?

BARRET: [next image] And Junon. Do you see? Do you see!?

AERIS: What the fuck are you talking about!?

BARRET: [next image] You cannot deny me! Your eyes are open!  Here, the ultimate doing! Midgar! Do you see? Do you see!?

AERIS: Yes! [sobs] Yes, I see! I see it! [sobs harder]

BARRET: And now I will be satisfied. I will be denied no longer. You remember what happened to Tifa?

AERIS: Yeah, you blew her fucking head off, you looney!

BARRET: Yet where is her body?

AERIS: How the hell should I know? You were there with me! She just disappeared with Cloud!

BARRET: Another person trying to assume credit for what’s rightfully mine.

AERIS: …Did you hit your head or something?

BARRET: #@^$*&^^#@$! @$@#$@#@#$@#! [Starts cussing]

AERIS: [Shocked expression] Oh my virgin ears!

SHINRA TROOP OS: There he is!

SHINRA TROOP 2 OS: Get him!

[Barret yells and shoots at them as he flees. They give chase.  Aeris stares after them for a moment in silence.]

AERIS: A little help.

CUT TO

SCENE III

INT CORRIDOR

[A little while later Aeris is walking down a hallway.]

AERIS: I swear, the weirdest shit goes on anymore-

[An explosion rocks the area. After falling down Aeris pushes herself back to her knees.]

AERIS: What the? Oh wow. I’m even more flower girl than before!

SCENE IV

EXT GREEN FIELD

[Elsewhere, the shadowy form of Barret reaches for the sky.]

[Aeris is walking along happily.]

VOICE: So, do you want to know what he was really after?

AERIS: You!

SEPHIROTH: Flowers.

AERIS: Still a gil!

I have a collection of my poems called MisAligned: The Heart Waxes Poetic which collects my old poems but not some of my newer ones included those flash fictions!
