A Haiku: The Mountains of Yore

It’s been a while since I’ve written any sort of poem. I’m feeling like a haiku today. Let me see if I can put one together then. In remembrance of lives long lived, a time more simple than today. In the places of Nippon where the mountains rise tall and the grasses are always moist to the feet. Where the winds constantly carry the salty air of the sea. And where good, honest work always kept you sheltered and always with companionship.

THE MOUNTAINS OF YORE

Out there, the birds sing

Far upon high in the trees

Never longing more

Thank you for taking the time to read this! I will have more in the future. Stay tuned.
