You know, I should really make these updates come the beginning of every year! I think with this edition, I’m going to point to the milestone numbered games and then write up the games I’ve beaten since the last posting. None of the past games from before then have changed any so I won’t have to alter those or add to the prior posts in that regard. Therefore, this list will be significantly shorter! You’re welcome!

#1 First Game Ever “Beaten”: Baseball on the NES in 1987 (I counted it as a win as I won the championship I was playing in it and it was my first win in any video game to that point).

#25 Twenty fifth game ever beaten was Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles IV: Turtles In Time on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES). That was a fun one! Based on the arcade of the same name.

#50 The fiftieth game I ever beat was less than a year after hitting the twenty fifth! (I played a lot of video games during this time. Mostly because I was still in high school and I had a lot of free time when I got home). Jurassic Park on the SNES. I played all the Jurassic Park games and even beat the Sega Genesis version a few months earlier.

#75 It took me until 1996 to reach the seventy fifth game on my victory list. And it was the second game of the year in January too! (Right behind Super Mario World 2: Yoshi’s Island). It was Illusion of Gaia right on the SNES. It was a trying time for me. My girlfriend had broken up with me and I just didn’t feel like doing much that year. In fact, I only beat six games in total as a result. Two in January. One in July. Two in September. And only one in October. That was when I got ahold of a Nintendo 64.

Games Beaten in 1999CE: 1 Yup. Just one. And that was Resident Evil Director’s Cut on the Playstation in May of that year. Why only one? Well, I had gotten married in October the previous year and when we moved down to Wills Point Texas, she immediately left me for her ex-boyfriend (she would eventually leave him for his father–but that’s a tale for another time). Needless to say, I didn’t feel like playing much when I got back to Dayton OH. I was rather depressed for a good time later.

#100 Ah yes! It took six years but I finally hit that magic number 100 victory! And it came in the form of Forgotten Realms: Baldur’s Gate on the Playstation 2 (PS2)! It was my first victory of the year (2002 CE) and didn’t come until March. Sometimes, it takes me a minute to get around to playing something. Or I’ll play and just not care enough to beat the damn game to begin with. In fact, I’ve played hundreds (maybe even thousands) of games over my life and have beaten only a handful of them, in comparison.

#125 Resident Evil 4 on the Nintendo Game Cube (NGC) in 2005 CE. It was my first game of the year having been played and beaten in February. This wasn’t my only milestone this year either!
#150 In November of this same year, I took out my hundred and fiftieth game victory, 1943 KAI, a game in the ‘Capcom Collection’ on the PS2. My friend helped me with a lot of the games I blasted through this year giving me my highest victory count ever! I’ve yet to surpass it! …In fact, I likely never will. I just don’t have that kind of time anymore and I have a new baby on the way so that will hinder my play time a bit. Even if not, there’s just not a whole lot I like to play these days. I’m pushing forty five and I’d rather work on my novels instead.

#175 was actually my last victory in the year of 2007. It came in the form of Assassin’s Creed (giving me my second favorite series ever right behind Mass Effect. Of course, neither series has given me much joy in the last several years–lookin’ at you, Ubisoft!) on the XBOX 360 November 30th, on a Friday.

#200 Big two hundred! Even got the day and time: Tuesday, February 1st at 7:54 PM. And what was the game with the dubious honor of being my 200th victory in my video gaming career? Why, it would be: Deadspace 2 on the Playstation 3 (PS3)

#225 Some of my milestone games are just perfect to make the list. For instance, the game filling the two hundred and twenty fifth spot was South Park: The Stick of Truth on the PS3 at 2:28 AM on Friday March 7th. Fantastic. Oh, and I had a pretty good year for victories too.

#250 Oh! Number two hundred and fifty is a throwback to another milestone game I once beat. In a series I once loved (this one demonstrating why the series just isn’t for me anymore but it was still relatively enjoyable, I suppose). And what was that magic milestone game? Hailing back to number one seventy five and exactly seventy five games later, it was Assassin’s Creed: Origins on the Playstation 4 (PS4) at 11:42 PM on Saturday January 6th, 2018 CE and was also the first game beaten of the year.
